There are so many venues within NYC that finding a place for your next event may prove challenging. There are some great Italian restaurants in this area, and there is something for everyone and every budget. I recently attended a wedding party dinner at Charlie Bird. I was fascinated with this place. This eatery is one that serves both Italian and American dishes. They are famous for their homemade spaghetti and their unicolor pasta. When you walk through the door, you will smell the aroma that is just tantalizing. The music is killer here and it is an establishment for the cool. Snoop Dog is an icon here, as is Jay-Z and others that create rap music. The walls are painted with vivid colors and boom-box prints are all over the walls. Those who love a good meal with plenty of good vibes will enjoy coming here. Their private reception area is great for parties of 10 or more. This place is hip and definitely worth checking out. A rather new spot in the Tribeca area is China Blue. This jazz establishment is a bit lofty and has classic oriental touches that are inviting. The lights and dark woods are amazing with tons of flea market finds. The food seems to have the same eclectic feel that the décor does. Dim Sum is one of the best dishes there. IT is Shanghainese, but they do it in a unique way. This is not the average family-style establishment, rather, it is a place that is a little more sophisticated. There are many different rooms, which makes private events easy and intimate. They can accommodate a party of 10 or even 100. Their rooms are vast and make entertaining easy. While touring the venues for your next event, you may want to check out Tarallucci e Vino. I was stunned by the posh décor here, as well as the amazing foods. There are so many eateries that state they make “real” Italian cuisines, but this place doesn’t just say it, they live up to their claims. If you like traditional lasagna, their 15-layer specialty will melt in your mouth. How about some hen broth soup with freshly grated Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top? You may have driven by this place 100 times and never knew it was there. It is located in Union square and sort of tucked away from all the hustle and bustle. The place is always packed, so reservations are encouraged. When it comes to parties, be sure to book well in advance. They have a menu that will wow you. How about some amazing snapper or a tender duck? They have exotic dishes like black truffle aioli and things like tartar. While they have amazing foods, nothing could be as wonderful as the service they provide. They go above and beyond to make sure that every person is comfortable and satisfied. I attended a party here a while back and I thought the service was exceptional. Not many places have both great service and terrific foods, but Tarallucci e Vino delivers in all areas.
