The investment strategy of Highland Capital Management has been changing for the last 20 years. The company started with generating alternative investment products to suit the needs of its clients. It used both the bottom-up research approach and the top-down approach to identify investments with the highest potential returns in various market sectors and classes. Apart from investment management, Highland Capital Management is also involved in community and charity work. Its contribution to charity amounts to $3 million annually through The Dallas Foundation. To expand its charity fund and improve its efficiency, the firm recently teamed up with Linda Owen to serve as the company’s charitable fund manager.

According to Owen, Highland is one of the companies committed to philanthropy that inspires many people. More remarkable is the fact that Highland’s commitment goes beyond funding to a point where employees dedicate their time and energy to participate as board members. Participation is critical to creating better solutions to the societal challenges and look for alternative ways to support the various causes. Owen was also delighted to be given a chance to work with such a dedicated team.
